Proven by research, the near-infrared wavelengths utilized in light therapy devices combat the signs of aging by improving cellular performance. Similar to how plants go into photosynthesis by using UV rays, a similar occurrence can be replicated in human tissue by using specific wavelengths of light energy to regenerate cells.  Wavelengths of light energy are clinically verified to enhance your body’s natural ability to generate collagen and elastin by activating the fibroblast cells.

What is Low – Level – Light Therapy?

Low-level-light therapy is based on Light Emitting Diode (LED) technology and applies light energy to the body to enhance cellular metabolism, accelerate repair and replenish damaged skin cells, and stimulate collagen production. Research has shown that LED light therapy may help smooth skin texture, improve skin firmness and resilience, increase lymphatic system activity, restore skin’s natural cellular activity, and reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation. The treatment is for all skin types and is non-ablative, non-invasive, and painless. Celluma also uses a combination of  blue, red and NIR (near-Infared).

What is Light Therapy Used For?

Low-Level-Light Therapy devices have been cleared by the FDA and shown to manage:

    • Mild to moderate acne
    • Superficial, benign vascular and pigment lesions
    • Periorbital wrinkles and rhytides
    • Sub-optimal local blood flow and circulation

Due to the benefits of light therapy, we typically use light therapy in conjunction with treatments such as Sofwave, Morpheus8, and LaseMD.

How do I prepare for using Celluma?

Celluma should be close to the area of the skin. The skin should also be free of clothing, makeup, or anything else that may deflect the light away from the skin. These units may be purchased for home use if desired.
